Ingredients:

  • 1 lb. Fresh Lean Ground Chuck
  • 2 Fresh Alabama Grown Tomatoes, diced
  • 1 package Dole Lettuce (American Blend, Italian Blend, or Romaine)
  • 1 packet taco seasoning mix
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or Mexican blend)
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup salsa
  • 1 avocado, sliced (optional)
  • 8 taco shells or tortillas
  • Fresh cilantro, chopped (optional)
  • Lime wedges (optional)

Recipe:

  1. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the ground chuck and cook, breaking it apart with a spatula, until it is browned and fully cooked, about 8-10 minutes.
  2. Drain any excess fat from the skillet.
  3. Add the taco seasoning mix and a 1/4 cup of water to the cooked ground chuck. Stir well to combine. Reduce the heat to low and let it simmer for 5 minutes until the flavors are well incorporated.

  3. If using, slice the avocado and chop the fresh cilantro.

  1. Warm the taco shells or tortillas according to the package instructions.
  2. Spoon a portion of the seasoned ground chuck into each taco shell or tortilla.
  3. Top with diced tomatoes and a handful of Dole lettuce.
  4. Add shredded cheese on top of the lettuce.
