A Local Partnership with Heart—and History
The Mooney family—Brian, Erin, and their team—are no strangers to Alabama kitchens. Long before Tre Luna became a thriving catering company in downtown Birmingham and a beloved dining destination in Hoover, Erin was learning the ropes in her aunt’s restaurant and hearing stories of her grandfather’s grocery store and butcher shop in Maplesville, Alabama. Brian, meanwhile, grew up in New York, spending weekends exploring local markets with his parents. He discovered a love for food early on, honing his culinary skills in restaurant kitchens, graduating from culinary school, and eventually bringing his passion for Italian-inspired cooking to Birmingham.
Together, they launched Tre Luna Catering in 2014, followed by Tre Luna Bar & Kitchen in 2019—building a business rooted in hospitality, heart, and homegrown flavor.
